I am a Psychology teacher in the International Baccalaureate program at Athens College. My master’s is in Social Psychology with a specialization in social and personal identity conflict and its effects on mental health. I am trained in Systemic and Family Therapy at the Athenian Institute of Anthropos.
My clinical practice includes individual and group psychotherapy for adults and adolescents with anxiety and emotional disorders, as well as counseling support for parents and families. I have completed an internship in Psychological Evaluation and Learning Assessment of children and adolescents at the Psychoeducational Center at Neon Heraklion. I have attended numerous seminars on child and family support in divorce, bereavement and dealing with serious illness, as well as courses on Child and Adolescent Psychopathology and motivational workshops for Adolescents.
Adolescence is a time of intense challenge and conflict that affects the whole family. Moving away from childhood, changes in one’s body and renegotiating one’s relationship and position in the family lead many teenagers to experience intense stress and disorganization. In this transitional period, a psychotherapeutic intervention can be of pivotal importance and support the adolescent in the exploration of self, body and identity.
